JB Pritzker studies Project 2025 and Trump, ponders his own political future – Chicago Sun-Times

“The work that I do now as governor is work that I love doing … In the wake of the Tuesday election, I think back to my first days in office, my first two years in office, when Donald Trump was president, and we had to defend Illinois against an awful lot of policies that the Trump administration was imposing that we needed to make sure we were addressing,” Pritzker said. “And so I think that work is going to continue. And I don’t have anything to announce today. And I have no plans for anything else,” he said of a potential presidential run.

Mr Pritzker, please enlighten us all with a list of the Trump policies that you defended against.

Asking for a friend, a truly dubious friend.

JumBo talks in circles, spewing the party lines and obfuscating issues of importance (if he deigns to acknowledge the issues).
This is all setting the stage for his imagined “waddle” to the POTUS spot!

JB still smarting over the snub after the Dem coup and the fact that Trump got more votes than he ever did in IL.

You got that right imho but I don’t think it will be a waddle. Pritzker has immense wealth and has shown not to have any problem spending. This leaves more in the DNC kitty for everyone else to spend and is a backdoor way of contributing to every Democrat in the elections. Money talks and Pritzker certainly has it making him have an edge over many of the others that, at the moment, are as bad as he is…just sayin

The left is dominated by progressive extremists now, and Pritzker, while definitely extreme, isn’t going to get much support. The repudiation of extremist policies this week ends his chances for higher office. It’s been a great week.

Agreed. America completely rejected and repudiated the progressive Pritzker-wing of the party that loves abortion, illegal immigrants, tranny kids, soft on crime, easy on drugs policies. Those ideas are in the rear view America. But poor old JB, the youngest billionaire in his familly, is always last to get the memo…

The Happy Warrior is the kid that would have no one at his birthday party were it not for the cake, ice cream and pony rides.

His mostly absent father died when he was 9; and not too long after, his wino mom shipped him off to boarding school on the east coast. While he was 17 and in boarding school, his mom jumped out of a moving tow truck in California and killed herself. JB was an orphan at 17. I feel bad for the guy on some level, because no one deserves such a messed up childhood. It’s proof that money can often be a curse than a blessing. The man clearly has a really messed up relationship with food, he’s got barely any… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
