Joe Biden is deeply unpopular. But can Democrats find an alternative for 2024? – The Guardian

"Both JB Pritzker, the governor of Illinois, and Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, have the Harris problem: they run states where Republicans are increasingly impotent. As executives, they can argue, unlike legislators, they have to make tough decisions each day that affect millions of people. Pritzker is attempting to be a national leader on gun control and Newsom is taking on DeSantis directly, running ads in Florida promoting California as a place that won’t infringe on abortion rights and meddle in the classroom."

How can the guy who received the most votes in history be so unpopular so soon?

Did people not know who/what they were voting for?

Really perplexing. We need some experts to explain it to us so we know how this happened.

It doesn’t matter who the democrats run. Many will never vote democrat again. The only way the democrats can lead the country again is by brute force. Don’t think they’re not contemplating something bad. A cornered animal is unpredictable!

They run Illinois with brute force like it’s nothing. What constitution? Seriously bro, cornered animal? It’s more like the dodo bird. Americans have the deer in the headlights look when cornered. Too many generations away from such government tyranny to remember. You know, like the seals they just walk up to and knock over the head. Then add in all the brainwashing and propaganda. Why do you think they call what is on TV “programming”?

California is losing residents, and that’s going to continue. The attraction of that dump used to be the climate, but the never ending drought combined with restrictions mandated by the climate change overloads has hurt that aspect. It’s a progressive liberal freak show complete with the Hollyweird crowd. Their politicians are on par with the morons in Illinois, and that’s really saying something. I hope it falls into the sea.… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
