"Where are Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and Foxx’s political patron, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, to stand and tell us what they’re doing to help Lightfoot stop the violence?...While we’re at it, why aren’t the leaders of Chicago’s clergy standing with the mayor?"
Kass says- “I still believe in Mayor Lightfoot. I like Mayor Lightfoot” This ain’t a popularity contest. I don’t need to ‘believe’ in her or any hopey-changey slogan. Or need a mommy to admonish (her fave fall back position). Nor a friend, pal or drinking buddy. I expect her to do the job. Instead she’s a foul mouth when confronted with truth, disrespectful, wears her fragile hurt ego like a overcoat and consistently explodes from constructive criticism. Lightfoot slaps away federal help as if its a personal character flaw. She’s a pro at the blame-game instead of owning the buck… Read more »

Chicago has worked hard for all the misery coming it’s way – they voted for it, time and again. And the local media covered for the malfeasance of Chicago Democrats. This is a new low by Democrats (hard to believe) with the lawlessness.

I believe he is not patting Lightfoot on the back…he is more smacking the others in the back of the head and telling them to get off their dead rears and do something, get involved, have an opinion, etc.

A Columbus statue never belonged in Grant Park. Grant was American, unlike Cristoffa Corombo. ?
Corombo belonged in Columbus and Arrigo Parks, which were/are Italian American areas. ?
CPD can’t be everywhere. It was up to Michigan Avenue to have its own security, which rich stores can afford. ?

Kass is right on most of the time, and has a lot of good ideas–but not this time. Who has Lightweight ever stood up to? She caved to the mobs and tore down the Columbus statue. She allowed the LGBT parade of tens of thousands of marchers on Halsted with no criticism about them violating her own Covid guidelines. She left Michigan Ave unprotected so as not to rile up the looters with a stronger police presence. She just caved to the CTU on reopening procedures. She’s afraid to speak up against Madigan. Can anyone name a single time she… Read more »
Kass knows better than to say he likes Lori and thinks she is doing a good job. He’s afraid of blm because she’s black and gay. She gave into the blm mob and the CTU mob. She let Michigan Avenue burn to show the white people where she’s at.she tore the statues down to make nice to her constituents. And Kass knows it but is afraid to say anything.

John Kass is way off base on this article. When Lori gave the teachers their latest contract, it was obvious she was just another liberal seeking to consoldate power with no concept of budgets.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
