John Kass: It’s not Chicago Covid Mr. President, it’s Chicago violence

"People in all neighborhoods, and tourists with money to spend, are afraid to walk the streets at night or drive lest they’re carjacked, and on Chicago expressways some 185 people have been shot this year. All of America can see. And President Biden comes to Chicago to applaud himself on his Covid mandate? Get real for once in your life Joe. Behold Chicago."

Doing the math from figures in an October 6, 2021 CWB article, there was an average of over 5 carjackings per day in Chicago during September 2021. “For September, the city logged 168 carjackings through last Wednesday, up 57% from 107 during the same period last year. Biden doesn’t know where he is half the time, and his gaffes are getting worse. Everytime he opens his mouth it’s gibberish. He is not fit for office. Republicans need to take back the House so we can hold on for dear life when Kamala takes office. What a disaster.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
