Johnson, other ‘sanctuary’ mayors called to testify on ‘obstructionist policies,’ but he’s not sure he’ll show up – Chicago Sun-Times

Mayor Brandon Johnson referred the question to his Corporation Counsel Mary Richardson-Lowry, who said, “It would be premature to talk about going until such time that we’ve properly digested all of the legal issues as well as other substantive aspects of the communication from the oversight committee. … It is an invitation that we have received. It is not a document that compelled” the mayor’s testimony.

It takes this guy 1/2 a second to claim Chicago as a sanctuary city and spend millions. But when he is asked to come to a congressional oversite committee to provide input and testify about his policy and spending…suddenly he needs to lawyer up and “digest all of the legal issues”. It would seem prudent for him to perhaps have digested all of the legal issues before he claimed Chicago as a sanctuary city and spent $612M of tax payer dollars.
