Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I’m not with you. And I did go. I left Chicago and am so glad you are not the mayor of my town.
Not to worry, Mayor Cliff Notes, we see the residents fleeing your ‘leadership’. Those are the ones who are going.
This Marxist tool has to go!
This is great. Brando is just creating a bunch of whistleblowers.
JB has zero chance of being president. If he raises taxes in any major way in Illinois he will eliminate himself for the running completely. Even if he doesn’t do that he still has zero chance in the end. JB is a bloated, public union stooge who is helping lead Illinois to becoming the first state to force the Feds to allow state bankruptcy in the future. JB says the tariffs will hurt Illinois, but yet he bends over for the corrupt public unions which hurt Illinois financially, and the illegals who hurt Illinois financially. Slobster is not concerned with… Read more »
If? JB the Hutt already has majorly raised taxes in Illinois. From the worthless Chicago media? Cheerleading.
Corporations, manufactures, financial firms have been leaving Chicago and IL for decades, it’s reputation as an anti-business high tax high risk state have been known for generations. Mayors like Rahm and Daley were instrumental in curbing the losses and maintaining some sort of facade of Chicago as a major business center. But after Lori, BJ and the ongoing tyranny of pritzker there’s no reason at all for any businesses to locate here or stay here. Just this morning I read the Chicago Stock Exchange is reincorporating in Dallas. This is is an accelerating collapse made worse by this dipshit CTU… Read more »
I know people like to say Republicans are also to blame, but in reality, they’ve been the minority party for 45 years, only having complete control of government once during that time period during the mid-90’s. Mike Madigan ran the state with an iron fist for decades. RINO Republican governors – trying to naively appease increasingly radical Democrats – went along with the destruction. But it’s difficult to assign most of the blame to them because, as the minority party, there wasn’t much they could any ways. Republicans have been fleeing the state for decades now, just giving up entirely,… Read more »
Excellent.
Marko is exactly right. And when they finally impose a transaction tax on options and commodities, all that trading will follow the Chicago Stock Exchange out of town. When the local Marxist unionists complain about those evil corporations and rich people leaving, the Marxists will just have to yell louder than ever — because the people they are complaining about will be so far away.
I think BJ’s hairdresser should be fired first.
That ‘conehead’ look is juvenile at best. it suits Mayor Cliff Notes.
Hopefully this goof is himself jettisoned next election snd hopefully the stain of CTU affiliation means no such successor.
Brandon Johnson is a complete moron. He is a bought and paid for CTU idiot. It is an embarrassment that someone so stupid would be the mayor of a major world city. He is without a doubt a complete waste of space as both a mayor and a human in general.
So sad what’s happened in Illinois, the Democratic Party should now be known as the activist party they are so far left it’s just sad
What an idiot. How unfortunate that the residents of Illinois have the two worst politicians in the country in office at the same time. Is it any wonder that Illinois rates at the bottom in nearly every key statistic that matters? And it’s about to get worse, with Brando hellbent on destroying Chicago because he’s a petulant child, and Pritzker trying to turn Illinois into an example of a new world order the nobody wants. Fiscal cliffs loom large for both men, and neither is up to the challenge. Burn baby burn.
So when a mayor does it, its OK. Got it.
