In an opinion issued Feb. 10, U.S. District Judge Elaine Bucklo noted the county lacked either direct or circumstantial evidence for its claims of intentional discrimination. Many allegations, she explained, at best show the bank understood a possibility some practices might negatively impact minorities, but fails to show how the bank set out to be discriminatory.
Discriminatory lending: applicants don’t have adequate income, don’t have adequate savings, don’t have adequate credit-rating, oops, so must be systemic racism rather than personal failings.

So it’s racist to not lend money, it’s racist to lend money, it’s racist to foreclose, it’s racist not to foreclose, its racist to lend too little in bad neighborhoods, its racist to lend too much in bad neighborhoods.
I hate the criminals at Bank of America but there’s no way they can win!
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
