Judge refuses to detain man accused of robbing postal worker, trafficking checks stolen from the mail – CWB Chicago

A DuPage County judge this week refused to detain a man who prosecutors have accused of robbing a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier at gunpoint. Judge Joshua Dieden “noted the significant passage of time since the alleged offense and [the man’s] lack of any criminal history” in rejecting the state’s detention petition.

The SAFET act is just a way that democrats can keep crime statistics high and then blame innocent, non-violent, law abiding gun owners for the crime problem.

Would love to pull this judge if I robbed a bank a few years ago and was a first time offender. And who was the one that cited the “ significant passage of time “ a while back? A cackling, rather nonsensical woman that was running for president if my memory serves me well…

Another judge released Portage Park domestic violence suspect. That violent suspect immediately got out and finished the job of murdering his wife. That judge got reassigned, didn’t he?
This judge is not protecting postal workers so why shouldn’t his decision be criticized? He also did not protect the victims whose identity was stolen through mail theft. Why shouldn’t he be reassigned? Do you have to wait before more postal carriers are attacked?

Just wondering. Could U.S. Postal Service sue this judge for putting postal workers in danger?

Why haven’t federal authorities stepped up and prosecuted this guy. Postal worker robbed, federal crime, federal court, federal prison.

Wow, cannot believe this. The judge doesn’t think stolen mail and identity theft is a big deal. I guess the judge thinks being robbed at gunpoint is a nothingburger. No wonder postal workers are under siege. Welcome to the end times where lawlessness and violence abound and society can’t even function.
Don’t trust Illinois judges and think twice before mailing anything.

That’s because of a scam called check washing. My father was a mail carrier before becoming a garbage truck driver. I care about mail carriers and people who are attacked on the job while trying to make a living. I stand my ground. And as far as Illinois judges are concerned, read When Corruption Was… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
