Jussie Smollett sentenced to 150 days in jail, ordered to pay back Chicago $120K – WGNTV (Chicago)

Along with the 150 days in jail, Smollett was also sentenced to 30 months of probation. He also must pay the city just over $120,000 in restitution for the overtime spent by Chicago police officers who investigated his initial hate crime claim. Additionally, Judge James Linn imposed a $25,000 fine.

Mr. Smollet is narcissistic and delusional – likely desirable traits in an entertainer or politician, but not a good formula for a satisfying genuine life.

The damage he did to real victims is incalculable. He owes a major heartfelt apology to the LGBTQ+ community and all people who have actually been victims of hate crimes.

The whole circus he orchestrated is an embarrassment.

I think his sentence should have been harsher.
