Kendall County state’s attorney sues state over SAFE-T Act – Aurora Beacon-News*

The suit filed Friday in Kendall County Circuit Court by State's Attorney Eric Weis and Sheriff Dwight Baird names Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois General Assembly as defendants. Weis told Kendall County Board members he needs to try and prevent the “horrendous unintended consequences” of some provisions of the SAFE-T Act.

I read, perhaps here, that with the Fed’s circling around Madigan he was in need of support anywhere he could get it. He threw his weight behind this act in exchange for the support of the black caucus members in the State House of Representatives. Now Madigan is apparently gone but this act he supported is still here meaning that Madigan left a political landmine in his wake.
