LaShawn Ford Wants Riot Fest, Big Concerts In Parks To Pay 2% Fee To Communities Hosting Them – Block Club Chicago

A tax earmarked for specific parks could help rectify that issue, state Rep. La Shawn Ford said. “The festival organizers are going to spend some money to put the park back after their event, but at the end of the day they’re going to walk away with a profit and are better off as a result,” Ford said. “We need the park and the community to be put back whole and made better than when they found it as a result of these events.”

Funny how they have to pay ‘communities’. Who exactly is the leader of this community? How should the money be distributed? Who can I speak with that is in charge of this ‘community’?

The “Community” are the politically well connected who are faceless/nameless/shameless but stand behind the curtain all getting boatloads of money.

Better plan — keep oversized noisy music festivals out of city parks — they are intended for neighbors to use as recreation — not for drug addled fans of awful music
