Lawmakers, advocates protest funding cuts for developmental disabilities – Champaign News-Gazette

“This reduction is an approximately $87.7 million cut to (adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities) and accounts for approximately 9% of total (staff) hours and would result in a reduction of service hours for 90% of all group home residents,” reads a letter penned by state Sen. Chapin Rose. He said later, “Oddly enough, the same time that the immigration crisis popped up and the governor was talking about all this new money that was coming out of nowhere to pay for the immigrant crisis in Chicago was right around the time they originally notified all these group homes that they were going to cut $87.5 million. Are they related? The timing sure seems odd.”

I wonder if the advocates ever read Who Stole My Cheese? Very likely the migrants, er illegal aliens, stole it.

Taking from legal Illinois residents that are among the most vulnerable in the state, in order to give to illegal squatters. That’s JB Pritzker’s idea of good decision making.

The timing isn’t odd at all. If it quacks like a duck…. We are witnessing the powers that be openly and brazenly now admitting what they have been working at for a very long time. Destroying this Country and the people in it. We have been slaves (through taxation) for decades and with each year they have taken more and more of our God given rights and freedoms away from us with lawless legislation.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
