Indiana lawmakers announce intent to redraw boundary between Indiana, Illinois – WXIN (Indianapolis)

If HB 1008 passes, the Indiana General Assembly would create an “Indiana-Illinois Boundary Adjustment Commission” tasked with helping those Illinois counties become part of the Hoosier State. ”That is a process that follows a Constitutional process for redrawing state boundaries,” Speaker Huston said. ”We think there might be some interest in the Illinois Legislature to do that.”

This is actually important. Pritzker runs Illinois in a manner that generates headlines that entices the far left to support his future national office goals. Costs and economic unfeasibility do not matter one bit to him as long as a leftist headline is generated. Headlines of counties wanting to leave Illinois will however and no doubt anger him . While I wish for the situation to happen I have little hope that it will. I do however applaud the serious damage the headlines will do to Pritzker dreams of becoming Senator, VP or President.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

“It could make us a laughingstock…” No, I don’t think so. It’s a jab at Illinois, it’s mocking Springfield. It’s like Moses of Indy telling Chris Welch of Springfield, “let my people go”.

I imagine that the controllers of the Illinois legislature might be happy to lose some Republican counties. Or they might go along with it as part of some other political deal. While Indiana’s state income tax appears lower than Illinois’, counties impose their own income taxes, and it seems that pension income and IRA withdrawals are taxable. Maybe someone living in Indiana will fill in the details.

Springfield would never in a million years voluntarily give up Republican counties because it would contribute to the reduction in congressional seats. They’d rather those Republicans just leave and replace them with illegal immigrants. I’m not making this up, they hate Republicans.

Will county has been Democrat for as long as I’ve been alive. It seems like there is a slow shift to the right – Kamala won this past election only by 1.6 points, but that’s more likely an aberration in favor of Trump than a surge in Republican voters.

Will County is chock full if towns chock full of liberals that want their places of residence to be just like big brother CHI, which they gaze upon with starry eyes. Plainfield, Shorewood, Manhattan , Morris and other previously nice areas now have Section Eight housing and the Pandora’s box of ills it brings with it. Joliet engages in some political chicanery that would do Brandon proud and is falling apart at the seams. Other than about a ten mile strip westward along the state line, IN would do well to let Will County and its liberals fester in their… Read more »

Joliet is rapidly becoming more hispanic, which I think has been the source of the slow rightward shift, as the local yokels down there are leaving the state or dying off of natural causes. The average age of a native born Will County resident is almost 42 years old and higher than the national average…

There are counties along the IL/WI border that gaze longingly at Wisconsin too (one of Illinois’ solvent neighbors). Many residents along that corridor take their $s across the border already: lower sales tax, no food tax, and cheaper gasoline.
