Leaders suspend latest effort to alter Illinois Constitution and curb partisanship in legislative mapmaking – Chicago Tribune/Yahoo

Alter the state constitution to eliminate public pensions. It was done to eliminate prohibition, it can be done again. But the politicians would not allow it.

The jerks in the Gen Ass are the first to accuse Republicans of being anti-democratic, but I literally can’t think of action more opposed to democracy than what they have been doing on this issue for years. It makes one want to reach for a barf bag.

Democrats do not want voters to have a voice in redistricting. This would limit gerrymandering. Districts should be based on population only and be more in the shape of squares.
