Legislators advance more gun control legislation at Illinois statehouse – Center Square

The House passed Senate Bill 218 Wednesday, which will allow for firearms manufacturers to be sued for what policy makers deem deceptive practices. Another measure, House Bill 676, would do several things, including increasing the limits of where people can fire a gun from 300 yards to 1,000 yards from a residential area.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A federal judge in Virginia has ruled that a law banning licensed federal firearms dealers from selling handguns to young adults under 21 violates the Second Amendment and is unconstitutional.

A Federal Judge will pop Pritzkers bubble on the whole shebang so that law abiding citizens can have protection from the Chicago type gangs

They want to DISARM the Citizens so they can implement more Tyranny upon the Masses. Push Back and Do Not Comply – Shall Not be Infringed – Remember those words.

How is this going to work in the heavily populated multi residential areas of Chiraq? To whom will this apply? Certainly not the reparations seeking murderers running wild is my guess.

All of this gun control hoopla wouldn’t be needed if blacks would just stop killing other blacks

I have been a hunter for my entire life. We have always respected a neighbors property lines and taken safety and shot trajectories into consideration. The 1000 yard rule is another case of an uneducated politician crafting a law. Hunters will not abide and the DNR will not enforce this rule unless there is a conflict. ( which most likely existed before this new law) This will also remove several public hunting areas from eligibility, thereby decreasing outdoor activities in a state ranked 48th/50 in public land.

Only if the skin tone is looking light will those laws be strictly enforced

We have a handful of gun manufacturers in the state. I have friends who know one of them, they say they get offers from other states to leave IL, seemingly on a near daily basis. This law will be the last straw, they will all leave.

Tennessee is trying to pass Gun Grabbing Legislation as well. Too many Liberals are moving to Red States and are changing the Demographics. They take their bad voting habits with them.

Right. Thanks for everything Springfield Armory. I’m a big fan. My National Match M1A is my pride and joy. But I don’t blame you if you decide to seek friendly territory elsewhere. God willing, I won’t be far behind you in leaving for higher ground.

The best idea would be to outlaw shooting in any county, city, town or village that has a street named Martin Luther King.

No fire arms hunting-n-shooting within 1,000 yards of a residence. Well, that’s going to eliminate the vast majority of privately leased hunting land, in addition to the ability of most landowners to hunt and shoot their own rural property. Ours included. Lots of neighbors around us too – families who’ve hunted-n-shot their land for generations. But, then, that’s what you get when people move into the rural areas and start doing stupid stuff with firearms because they can. I built my range on our land because I got real tired of shooting at public ranges while trying to ignore people… Read more »

Well now, 10 negative down votes, but not a peep out of anyone illuminating exactly where they believe my thinking has gone wrong, or why our personal experiences with this issue are irrelevant.

I mean, really, 10 down votes? I’d have thought that at least one person would have come right out and stuck up for stupid people’s constitutional right to do dumb stuff with firearms just because they can.

Your comment was decided anti-second amendment. But I’m not without empathy for plight, I would not want to have hillbilly neighbors shooting mortar rounds all day and night, no more than I would want to have drunken neighbors next door drinking and partying late into the night on their patio. I once camped at that state park in Zion, when alcohol was still permitted, and the campsite next to me had unruly neighbors who drank until nearly 3 am while dozens of other surrounding campsites were trying to sleep. However, the problem wasn’t alcohol, the problem was these campers using… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
