Letter: Feds should waive interest Illinois owes on unemployment insurance – Chicago-Sun-Times*

From Comptroller Susana A. Mendoza: "We believe the Sept. 6 deadline was chosen based on an earlier belief the worst of the pandemic would have passed by now. With patients crowding Illinois hospitals and infections swamping the state, that is clearly not the case."

Illinois’ debt is always someone else’s fault. Our elected “leaders” have absolutely no idea how to balance a budget because they are never held accountable. Will 2022 finally change that or will IL continue to lose seats in Congress as fed up taxpayers find better governance?
