Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Notice a dangerous trend for Lori. Many bit players are openly criticizing the administration. She’s got a rebellion going.,, Lori’s been one dumpster fire to another; usually three or four roaring concurrently. Lori wants more time to continue the fine work she’s already finished. For someone who supposedly went to U of Chicago, she is really pretty dumb. Her first, and most important argument, is the logical fallacy called “damning the source”. She attacks the messenger and calls the accusation false because of who presents it. She would have been better off just denying that these conditions exist, at least that’s not a logical fallacy. A lie for sure, but not stupidity.
What a hoot! How “progressive”. First, set up a convenient straw-man messenger, and then shoot him. “Fox News – rant rant rant.” “Tucker Carlson – blah blah blah”. “Never have anything nice to say about Chicago.” Followed by, “We admit there’s several hundred homeless people living in the airport every day, but what you saw were old pictures.” “You know, taken yesterday, and the day before.” Right – it’s “new” hundreds of homeless people who are actually peeing in the terminals today, not the “old” ones in the Fox (and Daily Mail-n-NPR-n-Trib-n-Sun Times) pictures. I have a question, Mark … how did no one notice how badly students were doing – even back in 2019 – until WP brought it to the forefront? Wouldn’t you expect the IL Dept of Education to be jumping up and down when students’ performance was so poor and getting poorer years ago? Why have the IDOE if they’re asleep at the wheel? And to appoint the head of a failing district (Elgin) as the new leader? This guy hit the Peter Principle and then he’s promoted? Lori surrounded by her new posse including Fstherf Pflueger. They needed tie down chains to keep her from shrieking for Fox and Tucker. You could see it building as
her invective loaded index finger couldn’t be constrained. I predict she’ll be dropping F bombs by Election Day.
