No shit Sherlock, they can improve, but will not. Cops are paid the same not to respond as they are to respond. Their job is now only to fill out paperwork. They could care less about catching anyone. Sad but true. They are only trying to stay alive to enjoy their pensions in Punta Gorda, Fl. home of the retired Chitty of Chicago Cop.

911 radio, “Any units available in 016 for a burglary in progress”. Response from district watch commander, “No units available they are all handling baby daddy dramas in 011”.

The result of “bare-bones” staffing levels…

I wonder how many beats have been consolidated to give the illusion of coverage…?

The proud super-charged sports car that was once the CPD…

Is now a beat up old clunker that barely starts & breaks down often…

The fault lies squarely at the top…

Police manpower from all over the north and northwest side has been compromised in order to send more cops into those certain neighborhoods that have always been crime ridden cesspools. Remember in 2021 over 400,000 emergency calls to 911 went unanswered. When seconds count the cops will never show up.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
