Lightfoot on Biden sending aid to Chicago to curb gun violence: A matter of ‘incredible urgency’ – Chicago Sun-Times*

“And no, we don’t need federal troops; we need federal resources of a different kind," the mayor said. "And I’ve been very vocal about that; really vocal about both issues since 2019, and I talked at length last summer about the Trump administration’s disastrous policy of sending troops into cities like Portland and Seattle, which was an unmitigated disaster. Troops don’t know how to do local law enforcement. They’re not interchangeable."

Want to see panic? Biden should designate Dick Durbin as the Chicago violence expert. He’d pass out on the spot!

Isn’t this a retread of Operation Legend? Only now it’s messianic because Biden is doing it?

Too Hardiman and other charlatans of his ilk think they’re doing the community a service by separating fools from your money. What does he care? Ya want me to steal money by your rules? OK, I’ll be your huckleberry. Did he hurt himself beating his wife?

Thought she stated that Chicago vilence and crime was down?!! Now she wants money to help bring it down?!! What is it down or so far up that she can’t see out of Biden behind?

Incredible Urgency! Lol, sounds like she’s looking for a toilet! The big guy should follow up with a Blue Ribbon Territorial Imperative. Incredible Urgency Ha! Let’s see ya beat a BRTI for meaningless rhetoric. Maybe they can get Cardinal Soupy to hand out Violence Reduction Indulgences, Redeemable at any liquor store.

Turds in hell… Lightfoot thinks that if she kisses Biden’s old and demented a** enough, hundreds of billions more dollars will come out. Crying the race card might have earned her millions in the legal shakedown game, but it’s no way to run a major city. “I’m expecting those resources to be coming relatively soon, based upon a conversation I had yesterday, both with ATF and the President,” Right, and insurance companies will pay for all the damage. What an incompetent fool.

Dear readers let me translate the failed mayors statement.
“Send me billions more of $$$$$, I will then decide how to spend, oops, waste it.”

Lori wants to hire violence interrupter gangbanger patronage workers to help her get elected. That’s why she wants the money, for programs. Hasn’t she waster enough money courtesy of the taxpayers? Contact tracing failed, door to door vaccinations failed. It’s all about giving money to phony west and south side community organizations to buy votes. TIo Hardiman needs to be investigated too, his violence interrupter nonsense has failed.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
