Gov. Pritzker said Friday that while the pandemic was beginning to ease in Illinois, it was too soon to determine whether restrictions, including a ban on indoor dining and drinking, could be lifted. Lightfoot can order tighter restrictions than the governor for Chicago, but she can not ease his rules, making the stay-at-home advisory, which she extended for 21 days on Sunday, redundant.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
