Lightfoot rules out public safety cuts, but worried about state shortfall’s impact on state aid to Chicago – Chicago Sun-Times

Lightfoot has refused to project Chicago’s budget shortfall, fearing an initial estimate would end up too low and must be revised upward at a time when laid off Chicagoans are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table.

Lightfoot is worried about things out of her control (state aid) but does nothing about things within her control (spending cuts). That is textbook poor management.

Exactly, as has been said before, soon the municipalities will have to choose between funding huge pensions and current workers/services. Once they choose existing services for direct political reasons (the next vote or social harmony), the state will garnish. Then the real death spiral begins.

On youtube check out “Tucker, why isn’t the ACLU fighting for our liberties?” for a vid that makes Lori look like an idiot. Read this editorial from the teachers’ union president in Philly who is asking for massive new funding for schools. He doesn’t explain who is going to pay for all that. The comments are pretty funny. Philly school district has $1 billion cash and $8 billion debts and unfunded pensions.

Hurry up and watch “Planet of the Humans” on you-tube before it’s taken down. It’s about the green energy scam but the flim flam of green energy is strikingly similar to Illinois lawmakers search for budget fixes that don’t really do anything. Isn’t Illinois trying to push green energy like California?
