A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Of course Ballys is all on board to having SEIU run the place too, right? People have a right to spend their money on weed, gambling, hookers… its their money its a free country. But in the end their habits are welcome when a massively in debt government has nothing left to claw back.

Gambling is a classic regressive activity because it adversely affects lower-income people more than others. It’s horrible Chicago has sunk to this level.
Hey, if Illinois is selling weed and is running state sanctioned gambling via a Lottery, what’s a casino in Chicago in the grand scheme of things? </sarc>

James – one thing I do not like about gambling and which rarely gets discussed is the negative externalities which obtain. These externalities are real, impose real costs on all of us, and light is not shed on them with snark about morality. Costs are costs, moral or not. Moreover, as pointed out above, the collateral damage of gambling most often in the first instance falls on the lower and lower middle classes, although addictive gambling can attach to anyone. Ultimately you usually can’t forever protect people or even effectively discourage people from acting as they wish. The heart wants what the heart wants, and all discussion otherwise is essentially just noise much of the time.

Lori needed to locate the casino somewhere that wasn’t too awful, yet! If Lori had here way the casino would be in Winnetka.
Just another way for the Leftists to rid the lower class of what little money they have. No good way to get there, roads are gridlocked, south side shooting gallery, hell ya, High Rollers with be there all the time, NOT!
I predict the casino will be a bust, crime will be rampant especially at this location and city will continue its slide to desolation
Will they bring their own patrons or Guests? They were given a choice, the casino or a lead shredding operation.
