Greg Hinz: Lightfoot should listen to Griffin – Crain’s*

Hinz: "Whatever you think of Ken Griffin’s politics—too conservative for my taste—you have to acknowledge his sense of timing. Griffin’s declaration that he’s tired of waiting for the city to get its public safety act together and will move Citadel’s headquarters out of town if the situation doesn't improve is the right message at the right time about Chicago’s embattled downtown jobs base."

Here is a relevant metric that nobody’s reporting: Volunteers are just starting to realize that the NFP orgs for which they volunteer have shifted liability onto the Volunteers themselves. Fact Checkers: How to find out? Call for quotes on auto insurance. Tell them you volunteer to drive seniors or disabled people to doctor appointments. THEN when you are denied coverage or asked to sign specific riders disclaiming insurers’ liability, ask the NFP for something in writing stating whose liability is the ride that the volunteer is proving at his own expense. Fuq Greg Hinz. He was right there cheering on the socialists, the looters, the rioters and continue to beat the woke drums of destruction. He is a third rate hack of a journalist and unqualified for a supposed business journal. Crains is a “has been” publication just circling the drain along with the Trib. The sooner we can get rid of these dinosaurs the better for the real business news to get covered, not paid “news” stories and propaganda.

Hinz is just another vacuous liberal who doesn’t understand attribution analysis… We are where we are, Greg, BECAUSE of your silly, childish liberal policies…

So Ken Griffin is “too conservative” for Greg Hinz.
Well Greg, voting for Dems is like giving a Lightfoot free gas card to an arsonist. All of your personal votes for Dems produced the mayhem that you now see. You should embrace it instead of running away from it because you endorsed all this behavior. This is all on you and your fellow travelers.

Citadel pays the kind of professional salaries that keep the state afloat. Illinois can’t afford to lose any financial trading talent.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
