a downstater’s wet dream
The southern third of IL as it’s own state would be the poorest state in the union with a per capita lower than Puerto Rico. it needs to economically develop on its own and then merge with a surrounding state instead.
Chicago is a microcosm of the whole state. Out of control unions, job and population loss, arrogant politicians, increasing fees and taxes, unresponsive judicial system, and a disenchanted population. The national media sees the dysfunctional system of Chicago and IL as being synonymous.
We all hate Chicago as just as much, possibly more, than you hate us, Lori.
