Lightfoot threatens to veto any new ward map that protects indicted Ald. Edward Burke – Chicago Sun-Times*

After trying and failing to forge a weekend compromise, Lightfoot high-tailed it out of Chicago for meetings in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday and Wednesday. She has no plans to attend Wednesday’s Council meeting, when the proposed citywide map is expected to pass.

Hmmm…. Lori’s goal is to punish Burke, fair ward boundaries; not so much.

Is the point of avoiding a referendum fear of the citizens thoughts? I wish someone would define the importance of ward boundaries and why. Being old and slow I suspect it boils down to money. Don’t ever show anyone the map, it would be like cheating at cards.
