In the north suburbs, 16.7% of 150 total ICU beds were reported to be available Tuesday; in the southwest suburbs, 20.7% of 372 total ICU beds were available. The figures on available ICU beds, by region, that were released Tuesday reflect only available ICU beds, not additional ones that hospitals may set up in coming weeks.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
