Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. To me it sounds like a Diversity Inclusion and Equity disaster when DIE is put in front of qualified, experienced, and capable.
It’s certainly become a lot more woke in the last few years, including a rainbow banner hung in the high-rise atrium. Toward the end of my 30 year career from which I retired due to Brandon’s and DOE’s clot-shot mandate, I was having Woke activities added to my training requirements in addition to things that actually affect my work, like, oh, radiation safety and lock-out-tag-out.
Another big problem was/is the ever expanding creep of bureaucratic BS imposed by DOE such that people spend more time on busywork than on getting things done.
EVERYTHING the Brandon Regime does is political and is intended to further their goals of punishing their enemies and rewarding their allies. They never do anything for the benefit of America. It’s only for power and power alone.
I’d guess the real reason – not put in the article – for the negative coverage is that Brandon wants to give the contract to some BIPOC/gay/female allies, and take it away from whatever contractor has it now, likely awarded during the Trump or Obama administration.
