Man found guilty of Big Gulp attack on former State’s Attorney Kim Foxx – CWB Chicago

In August, Foxx, who left office in December, updated her LinkedIn profile, laying out themes for her next chapter as a “collaborative trailblazer.” Among her stated goals was a desire to “build systems of accountability that are not punitive, but transformational. ... What if we became willing — strategically and morally — to absorb some harm in service of a greater good?” she asked.

The guy would likely not have been charged at all were Foxx not who she was, that he was slapped with two felonies was absolutely because of who she was. Whatever happened to the domestic disturbance call her husband made against her? Pushed under carpet by her clout?

Throw rocks at cops and the left cheers, no charges brought. Do this and you get a felony charge. So much for equal justice in Chicago. Does he have a Go Fund Me page?

The judiciary in Cook county has been bought and paid for by the democrat party. Nobody really believes that its primary duty is to provide justice or even equity. It is there to do the bidding of the democrat party.

Have you lost your mind? Why would you contribute to the legal defense fund of a criminal who threw a big gulp at the former state’s attorney? He said he didn’t even know who she was. Of course the guy should have been convicted, he’s a complete POS, you can’t go around throwing things at random people during road rage incidents. The fact that protestors are let off easy doesn’t excuse his behavior.

I’d be fine with a misdemeanor charge but a felony conviction is too much.

Because he was overcharged! What part of that do you not understand, especially when other criminals commit more serious offenses and have reduced charges or no charges at all from the same office that charged this guy? Do you know what the charges were for the criminal who was exchanging gunfire with another car on the Dan Ryan a few years ago and a retired teacher was killed because of that? I’ll save you the trouble, there were no charges because they were deemed “mutual combatants”.

People get stabbed, beaten and in some cases shot while on the public way and trying to get an Assistant States Attorney to approve felony charges is many times, most of the time, an effort in frustration. The Foxx case and the charges are simply laughable but Foxx is a darling of the democrats, clout heavy with Preckwinkle and no doubt the judge. For throwing a root beer drink at someone he may go to prison. Just think about that for a minute. A total miscarriage of the so called justice system. A misdemeanor, ok, slap on the wrist probation… Read more »

Not a miscarriage of justice. He got what he deserved. We can only hope all the other criminals get what they deserve too.

You’re missing the whole point here. Read the article. Kim Foxx has stated her view is to “build systems of accountability that are not punitive, but transformational.” Having soda pop thrown at you is rude, not the punitive felony that she made it. She also said “What if we became willing — strategically and morally — to absorb some harm in service of a greater good?” This was an inconsequential incident that she should have led by example but clearly wanted to flex power.

I’m sure her behavior during her domestic with her husband was “punitive in nature”, yet she escaped without a charge. No politics there though, huh?!

But they don’t for more harmful actions and therein lies the rub. The protected regularly trash 7-11 stores, pummel each other and innocent bystanders and those caught get a stern talking to and nothing more.
