Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Compare and contrast Buffalo shooting and Chicago shootings. Where do we draw the line between hate crimes based on demographic analysis of faultless victims or raging perps? What about just reaching consensus on what’s right or wrong [not your truth vs my truth] and stop trying to pin it on Ted Cruz or Donald Trump or Lori Lightfoot? “…this advocacy system we’ve adopted outside of the courtroom, telling half-truths to hundreds of millions of inattentive and confused voters, does not sustain government of by and for themselves and ourselves.”
Absolutely correct.
Sadly, this is what millions of inattentive and confused voters either want, or are willing to accept. What happens in the courtroom isn’t much different, truthfully. DA’s and judges substituting the woke tribal “social justice” theory of the moment for their responsibility to keep us safe from criminal behavior.
Once again, where’s the army of “violence interrupters” that all the $100s of millions in fed arpa tax $ bought out in downtown stoppen the kids from wilden? Nobody knows? Nobody in dem machine or press cares?
Paying ballot mules
In a statement after the shooting at The Bean in Millennium Park, Mayor Lori decried the situation and said that ‘something’ had to be done so that we wouldn’t have to have another mother crying over her dead son. That’s a big problem. Is there only a mother to mourn, not also a father ? Is there a man out there who didn’t even know it was his son who was murdered?
Lori and her ilk created this problem and it’s out of control. Maybe she can land a job as a grease kettle operator. Her political future is racing off a cliff!
Just wait till the Democrat ban on bail kicks in — so none of these crime-thug wilding creeps will spend even a minute in jail
