BJ doesn’t care about popularity. BJ doesn’t care about reelection. His one and only purpose – stated before the election – is “First let’s get the money”. BJ is a CTU stooge and his reason for existing is to shovel massive piles of money to the evil scum vermin of CTU. Period. A billion dollar payday loan to give to CTU? So what? A ten billion dollar payday loan to give to CTU? So what? A hundred billion dollar tax hike to give all the cash to CTU? So what. FIRST LET’S GET THE MONEY!!!!! As I’ve said before: CTU… Read more »

Ugh, here’s another no-brainer for an alternative to raising PTs. Evaluate all city offices and do some belt-tightening. There, no PT increase needed. Relatedly, how many additional employees did the city hire during the COVID federal handouts? Before COVID, how could’ve the city functioned without all these extra employees (LOL)?

Who is going to stick around to pay the bills? Homeowners and small landlords have been stripped of their property rights so they don’t want to own property or pay property taxes in Chicago. Unemployment is growing. Will the unemployed and the free stuff army pay property taxes? We already know Brandon with his six-figure salary doesn’t like paying his own bills. Restaurants, stores, and small businesses are being robbed on a regular basis. Police can’t respond to emergency calls…. or even find the dead bodies in a timely manner. After crime victims flee, who will be left to fund… Read more »

Johnson knows that Leftist Democrats have the machinery in place to steal any election. Let Chicagoans eat cake! Can’t afford your property tax or rents, downsize!!!

A Democrat in Chicago / Illinois going against their word – er lying? Hardly surprising and they do it every day of the week, as they know their voters have totally bought into the D’s poor governance and the decline of Chicago and the State. Remember Pritzker’s fair voting map lie, or his property tax review commission lie?

Mayor Johnson needs to be outed in Chicago MSM about his 150+ CPD personal protection army. These are cops not working to protect Chicagoans, taxpayer-provided servants to fulfill Johnson’s whims and needs. Disgusting man.

This is the straw that broke the Mayor’s back. With his already historic low favorables, this will push him in to the land of no recovery. Just like when Lori, hit the 35 percent favorable mark, he can not recover because even many of his supporters now feel duped.

The Chicago voters by their election choices have demanded higher taxes and it is time they got them

“Originally, I got involved with this because of property taxes. The county tax assessor was trying to steal my mom’s house and her land, by assessing her an egregious property tax that was completely out of line with everybody else’s property taxes. So I pulled up the tax code and started reading it. And I found out that the way they were assessing a property for taxes was illegal. The county assessor was just making up numbers out of thin air. The law specifically requires that for them to assess a property they must, #1 – personally inspect the property,… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
