Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Ola and Abel Osandario must have really been busy to get this referendum beaten down!
There is only 38,000 of us?
Just pathetic, and increasingly so with each passing day. Straight out of the Marxist/Leninist playbook.
What I don’t understand is Mansion Tax referendum was supposedly defeated, and yet Harris seems to removed Burke’s substantial lead for DA spot. If there were all these uncounted mail-in votes for Harris, why weren’t proportionate share in favor of Referendum?
Sounds like Preckwinkle’s election monitors are willing to allow defeat of Referendum, but not defeat of Harris.
It’s a great question. I have no explanation for the disparate vote on those two things.
Or people that voted for both candidates also didn’t support the mansion tax. Not everything is a conspiracy you simpleton wackos. No different than the fair tax vote.
I guess Mayor Jonson is admitting that reasonable and responsible people in Chicago CAN effectively ‘throw sand’ into the Chicago machinery of the Leftist Democrats and CTU.
This guy is an embarrassment, following in the footsteps of Lori Lighthead.
he’s Lightfoot times 10!
I’ve seen articles saying the referendum failed on the south and west sides. Isn’t that the heart of Brandon’s supporters? His own supporters voted it down?
Hmmmm…I was using “CTU/Brandon ” in my wp comments, but maybe I got to switch to “Brandon Smollet” or “CTU/Brandon Smollet”…..so much material to work with, so little time
Do you actually think you’re clever? What a loser.
Marsh, swamp. “ What difference does it make?”- Hillary Rodham Clinton.
That’s hilarious, coming from the guy who uses a name from a cartoon character. My bad, you probably identify as a cartoon character.
