Mayor Brandon Johnson will head to Springfield again, to demand Chicago ‘receives its just due’ – Chicago Tribune/Yahoo

“I’m going to remain optimistic and hopeful that the city of Chicago receives its just due, particularly at a time the federal government continues to threaten our democracy, as well as everything that’s sensible about how we generate revenue for working people,” Johnson said.

Chicago & Illinois are beyond hope. Get the hell out. In fact, best to leave the US. Loving life in Cádiz, España. My SS and retirement fund give me a very comfy life in Spain. The best thing I ever did in my life was getting an EU Citizenship. Watching that Scheißschau on Bloomberg everyday is depressing.

Truth in Cook County

Funny thing is there was an article just published that showed 6 of the top 10 counties with the highest property tax rates (% of home value) in the U.S.A. are in Illinois. Most of the 6 were collar counties, however Cook County was not one of them. So BJ is going to assert that those 6 counties, that have higher property tax rates than Chicago, pay even more for his overspending in Chicago? Turn your finger around and point at yourself, Brandon.

Fire all his incompetent friends he hired, stop spreading on illegals, and make some budget cuts. No sympathy for you after the teacher contract to increase pay for failed education.

Six Percent has learned well from the miscreants that pester people for money at gas stations, supermarkets and on street corners in that if you throw out your sob story enough times, you’ll land a hook sooner or later.

“Johnson, for his part, kept his cards close to his chest Tuesday on what “progressive revenue” he would push for next week and beyond.”

Is “progressive revenue” code for taxing everything and anything that can be taxed?

So, let me get this straight…he’s going to go to Springfield and demand that the rest of the state tax payers provide the funding for the ridiculous corruption and graft taking place in Chicago…as his “just due”. The arrogance is amazing. Why should the tax payers throughout the state pay for Chicago and the insane decisions this Pin Head and his partners in crime make every single day. The State better send him packing, run him out of town on a rail, etc.

What a F-ing joke–“generate revenue for working people”. who are the clowns, besides some ST/WBEZ writers & CTU types, who are still Brando believers?

I think “… how we generate revenue from working people” would be a more fitting phrase.

Good idea, Mayor. Go to Springfield and DEMAND all you want. No one fears you. No one respects you. No one likes you. You don’t do any favors for anyone. Not a single legislator got there because of anything you did for them. Your Springfield operation is a laughingstock. And you are personally clueless how to get anything done down there. So instead of demanding anything, you better go begging– and fast– because your City budget, CTA funding, aid for education, and all your other shortages are not going to be addressed.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
