Mayor Johnson fans the flames of his political war against President Trump – Chicago Sun-Times

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson speaks during the 29th Annual Major General John A. Logan Memorial Day Commemoration at Grant Park, Monday, May 26, 2025. Johnson echoed the Holocaust comparison Gov. JB Pritzker made during his budget address. “We’re also watching in plain sight the president of the United States of America carry out the playbook that was done against an entire people group, and he’s doing it right here in this country against working people, erasing Black folks from museums and the history and the culture — coming after leadership,” Johnson said.

I want illegal aliens to be fearful of arrest. The smart illegal aliens will self deport.

The depth of offense these FOLKS are comfortable with is baffling – truly baffling.

JB, Brandon… You are comparing the deportation of people here ILLEGALLY, people who are STEALING resources from lawful members of society, to the actions of Germany during WWII?

I will never understand how Jewish people can ever support Democrats. Unfathomable.

BJ and JB, you both deserve to walk in the footsteps of folks sent to concentration camps so you can understand that horror, the absolute terror of that reality.

America accepted the elite refugees from the Frankfurt school of
pre-WW2 Germany. They and their indoctrinated offspring took over prominent universities; no wonder their students became left wing. I lived in Hyde Park, Rogers Park as well as West Ridge and remember the synagogues during the 70s and 80s displaying signs demanding “Save Soviet Jewry!”. This ethnic group became the victim of its own creation.

Marty, I’ll tell you how 70% of Jewish people support Democrats; it’s because they’re not Jews, they are Leftists of Jewish Heritage.

Just like CTU, Brando fans the DT flames to shore up his base—upper-income “let them eat cake” white progressives…. with their guaranteed gigs in gov, universities, non-profit NGOs, press, etc where they disparage on the “working class” from their towers. This is today’s dem party, even nyt admits it (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/05/25/us/politics/trump-politics-democrats.html)

No we don’t have another Democratic president sending billions to bail out blue cities and states.
Time to pull up your little boy pants and work with what you have.

Leave it to America’s worst mayor, he of the “ out with everything whitey “ movement, to accuse Trump of erasing black folks because someone is finally putting their foot down against naming everything public space, street, government building etc. after George Floyd or other “ heroes of the revolution “.

Fran Spielman beclowns herself. Again. “Beatriz Ponce de Leon, deputy mayor of immigrant and refugee rights” Yep. That’s no doubt a paid and pensioned position in Mayor Cliff Notes’ cabal, Fran. Taxpayers pay a bureaucrat whose job it is to undermine federal immigration law at every turn. No doubt she also insists that the millions of confiscated taxpayer dollars given as freebies to illegal immigrants be continued and expanded. Frannie goes on to laud Mary Richardson-Lowry’s continued theft of taxpayer dollars to run legal challenges to those who identified and stopped the theft of taxpayer dollars. Are all media people… Read more »

Problems for a “people group”? Whatever the heck that is. Hey, Mayor, you better start reading some news stories and some polls about the inroads Trump and the Repubs are making with blacks, Hispanics and young people, because the Repubs are delivering some results for the “people group.” You and your Democrat/union/race bating compadres are not delivering any benefits to the people you keep preaching to. It is almost time to stop criticizing the Mayor like this. His political skills are non existent and he is never going to get better at the job.

Exactly! Johnson personifies the saying: A man who doesn’t read is no different than a man who can’t.

How much of “Trump funding cuts” are in reality simply now spent one time ARPA-COVID funds that feds aren’t refunding? And DT is simply the perfect foil for Brando to blame. I believe, for example, the “violence interrupter” funding was ARPA-COVID $bucks.
While, for example, potential medicaid funding cuts are a different story as those cuts would be part of yet to be past reconciliation-“one big beautiful bill”.
Ditto for state.

How much of supposed “transportation crisis” shortfall, $771 mil annually at state level, is in fact simply duping dopey taxpayers into PERMANENTLY funding now spent ARPA-COVID funds for CTA, RTA & METRA??

The answer is both.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
