Mayor Johnson won’t say if he’ll return $150,000 campaign donation from Durk, praises rapper’s community work – Chicago Sun-Times

After rapper Lil Durk was charged in a murder-for-hire plot, the mayor avoided a direct answer when asked whether he would return a $150,000 campaign donation connected to Durk. “I don’t operate in feelings. I operate in truth and justice,” Mayor Brandon Johnson said. “Here’s another example of a young Black man who grew up in severe trauma that led to life choices,” the mayor said, and Durk “has been very open and vocal about healing from those choices. That’s why he has been committed to finding his righteous path, seeking out truth and justice through his faith.”

Typical response from an utter failure.

Mayor Johnson is just another wanna-be rapper himself. He’s quite proud to be Lil’Durk’s supposed buddy, happy for the $150,000 validation.

Chicago’s Johnson and Dolton’s Henyard are ghetto birds of a feather.

This guy is really too funny– or is it tragic– to be believed. I have trauma from my youth so I will feel better if I can get somebody murdered. OK. Oh, and I also am on my ‘righteous path”, which includes murder. Murdering someone makes me more righteous, I guess. Wow. Some of us have a different definition of “righteous”, Mr. Mayor. And, oh, by the way way, where did such a fine fellow get $150k (after tax) to contribute to you? He must have some pretty righteous businesses he runs.

Brando has a certain criteria for holding someone completely unaccountable for even the most heinous acts. Take a guess what that single criteria is.

And his faith includes seeking out someone to murder someone else over the ubiquitous “ rap beef “, a common part of the preening, macho culture of the rap industry. Choir boy was also a friend to Lightfoot as well.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
