Mayor Johnson’s deputy chief of staff is working on solutions for city’s migrant crisis – ABC7 (Chicago)

The city has received eight more buses of migrants since Monday. The 12th District police station is becoming so crowded, some families are living in tents nearby. "At this point, it is just police stations because we are not bringing another large space on line for another couple weeks due to staffing and the community engagement process," Deputy Chief of Staff Christina Pacione-Zayas said.

Apparently BJ has a done-deal with one of the suburbs for a ‘migrant’ shelter, since they’re bragging about having one ready in a couple of months.

‘Community outreach’ must have already gone fine there, I guess. Wonder which mayor raised their hand to volunteer?

Would love to see the exchange of correspondence with suburban mayors. Other than the communist mayors of Evanston and Oak Park, all the other mayors have probably told him to go eat s**t.

The entire state’s a sanctuary state not just Chicago. Any ‘new arrival’ migrant can go to any municipality police dept/city hall/etc from Harvey to Winnetka and claim asylum. They can’t be denied services. They don’t need CTU/BRANDON to hop on a PACE bus to Schaumburg or Naperville (that’s what i would be doing if i where one of them). Even more scarry is ,i believe, any of the existing (1/2 million??-who knows) undocumented immigrants can do the same thing

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
