McCormick Place gets its first COVID-19 patients – Chicago Tribune

Patients started arriving Tuesday afternoon, and five were there Friday, officials said. “They are all people who have low-acuity COVID-19,” said Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who noted that the pop-up hospital was not designed to treat the sickest patients.

I still don’t why they didn’t use university dorms for this instead of wasting money on putting together this facility in McCormick place. What a clown show. I bet they will now put homeless there to show it being used. https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=14735

A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board. That means schools like Manley High School, with capacity for more than 1,000 students but enrollment of just 78, can’t be closed for anther three years.
