The Mahomet Aquifer may have a carbon pipeline drill right above it if Senate Bill 1289 is enacted by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

Any chemists in the readership here? If the CO2 leaks into the aquifer, what happens? Is the aquifer damaged?
Plenty of other reasons to oppose the project, but I don’t understand how the aquifer would be endangered.
