Some Republican lawmakers are concerned such a campaign could turn from a gun safe campaign to an anti-gun campaign. There was also a growing concern among some lawmakers that the General Assembly is going too far using tax dollars in public service campaigns.

Rarely is the kid in the a rural or suburban area injured playing with dad’s gun. it’s nearly always urban and some parent recklessly leaves a loaded gun under a pillow, in a dresser drawer or on a kitchen table.
