Measure would allow noncitizens to vote in Illinois school board elections – Center Square

State Sen. Celina Villanueva, D-Chicago, said her Senate Bill 1345 is an extension of a bill that already allows for undocumented residents to vote on local school councils in Chicago. She said this needs to be expanded across the state because these families have children in public schools where they pay taxes

if illegals can vote because they supposedly pay taxes, it follows that those who don’t pay taxes can’t vote

There is no real logic to his statement. Everyone including children pay taxes. Try and buy any item in the city that doesn’t have a tax. Everyone that even visits is a taxpayer.

Great! Let’s set up voting booths at every checkout register. That only makes sense, right? Buy a stick of gum in Chicago, cast your vote here!

“””—why wouldn’t it be possible for someone to infiltrate our electoral system if they’re not a citizen,”—“””

Like maybe bussing in a bunch of “red state” voters to counter all the “blue state” voters, or vice versa…???

This relegates elections to “who can cheat the best, without getting caught”, nullifying actual legal citizens votes…

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
