This is complete insanity! From what I remember, most contracts with minors were considered invalid as the minor can void it at will. Is the doctor going to re-attach their thingy if the contract is voided?

I recall reading somewhere that Illinois state law was changed about a year ago that gave kids, 12 and older, the right to make their own medical decisions. I guess that means they earned the right to pay for the cost of these decisions…no?
IIRC half of all kids in the state are on Medicaid, so the state is more likely than not paying for it.

Another example of progressive legislators proposing new laws which single-mindedly advocate progressive social issues of relevance to only tiny minority of constituents, appalling interventionist, and contradictory to values of majority of consituents.
I have yet to meet any parent who believes their under-age children should have legal right to obtain abortion or to gender-reassignment medical-care without parental knowledge and consent. Nor has a journalist found such a parent to feature in their news article.
I’ve met plenty of moms in the suburbs, AWFLs, who believe its OK for children other than their own to cut off their genitals or have an abortion without parental consent; but they would never allow their old children to do so.
Follow the money. Gender dysphoria used to be a mental illness until the Democrats turned it into a political and social cause. Hospitals such as Lurie are getting megabucks for these programs. Big pharma is raking in the bucks as well.
