Meet The Migrant Barbers Offering Fresh Cuts In The Loop – Block Club Chicago

“We give each other support and have made a lot of new friends,” Colombian Steven Rodríguez said in Spanish. “I lost my barbershop, so it’s nice to spend my days here with the guys.” The added cash helps the men send money back to their families, and buy food and other treats, since they are still waiting to get work permits.

These are requirements to keep the number of barbers in Illinois low in order to keep the price of haircuts high.

Just one of the many black markets that are opening up due to the flood of illegals.

If something is cheaper, I will use it.

Just one of the many unintended consequences of an open border and nobody in the useless gobermant cares about.

“Barbers – Licensing / Certification
All states require barbers to have a license. Requirements vary by state.

In Illinois, barbers must be licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. The licensing requirements for barbers include:

  • being at least 16 years of age;
  • completion of a 1,500 hour program of study at an approved barber school;
  • passage of an examination; and,
  • payment of a fee.

Licenses must be renewed every two years…”

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
