Nothings changed. The pay-to-play patronage machines more entrenched than ever after 40 yrs of rubber stamp Madigan. What’s most pathetic is to watch “new machine” progressive types somehow claiming moral high ground, somehow they’re different fighting for the “working class” when they are the worst con-artist machine grifters of all (i.e. CTU/Brandon, Stacy & crew). Where else can you be a CPS teacher for 4yrs, work as Springfield lobbyist, all while spouting leftist/ pseudo-socialist bs and making a giant gov salary$, end up mayor, and end up with a guaranteed $5.5 mil pension at 55—WOW????, etc, etc. Grifters like Brando,… Read more »

I heard his sentence might be light since he was in public service. What a bunch of BS. He used his public set to benefit himself and his friends. He should get the max sentence. No one should be reward for criminal behavior while in office.
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Burke and Madigan both had law practices handling property tax appeals. Have laws been passed to prohibit an elected official from deriving income from a business they own or work for from doing municipal business? What about a 10 year ban on lobbying once leaving elected office? So many sways to tighten up and so few in power willing to do so.

JB, Kwame, Brando, etc fancy themselves putting Illinois at the forefront of a war against Trump. But ironically it’s Illinois machine politics and specifically decades of Mr $pay-to-play$ Madigan that are the poster child for everything “administrative state”/ “deep state” corruption that populist Trump ran against…..I’m sure in Trump world they’re saying– ‘bring it on JB & bankrupt Illinois’!!!

How are the Madigan fanboys over at CrapFax handling the news? They were always lauding the Velvet Hammer for how smart he was, and how he would never allow himself to be tainted with impropriety of any kind. Turns out he was really the slimy politician we all knew he was. It was always a conflict of interest, and the trial brought that out.

What did Lisa Madigan know and when did she know it?
Yes, I agree. Didn’t governor WIDE-LOAD solicit Obama’s vacant senate seat from Blago. Didn’t governor WIDE-LOAD rip the toilets out from one of his spare mansions to avoid paying property taxes. Isn’t that tax fraud?
Don’t forget the Jenny Thornley scandal that’s being covered up

Madigan is the poster child of the criminal collusion and corruption of Public Sector Unions with Democrat Politicians. Public Sector Unions are unconstitutional and every agreement made is criminally Ill gotten gains and legally moot. Bust them now and toss out the ‘pensions’. Say it loud Mikey “Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act”.

Maybe Mike can help his fellow inmates with their tax returns. He’s gonna have a lot of time on his hands.

Putting this crook in prison is great. But, what he did during his crimes needs to be un-done. Madigan left his criminal mark on this state in the form of laws that protect his cronies and union contributors as well as commit the state and tax payers to financial burdens cooked up by this criminal element. Punishing him is one thing, but looking at the criminal acts that he did and undoing the financial burdens imposed on the State tax payer is another.

It’s a real shame it took decades to get to this point. That man was protected as ‘untouchable’ on high for many years, meanwhile, he almost single-handedly set the state on it’s current doom loop as the sum of all his actions and policies. Illinois became a craven Democrat haven because he allowed it to become so. And now it’s trash.

My Guess is he will apply for a pardon from Trump. The Ex-governor got one. There is honor amongst thieves.
Sounds like the little piggy squeals of a couple of Public Sector Madigoons who’s dung heap just got kicked over and who’s pensions are going to be canceled.
I would not hold my breath waiting for him to get it. It was Madigan who launched the impeachment process against Blago and I doubt very much that Trump would forgive any Dem responsible for an impeachment.
The reality is the state of Illinois has been run by criminals and a criminal origination for decades tied in with public unions. There needs to be a lawsuit brought against the state for lack of equal representation and criminal collusion between public unions and state representatives with the goal of being forced changes in whatever way possible. If nothing changes there will be eventual state collapse and Fed allowed state bankruptcy due to lack of bailout ability. Math always wins.
The link between the political class in this state and the influence of public sector unions needs investigated and outlawed. Allowing public sector union dues to support politicians and PACs which advocate for more benefits for the public sector unions.. Check mate for taxpayers..
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Well at least nothing will ever be named after him. Maybe Illinois will take this as a sign and clean up their act lol
Madigan wins! He’s 82 years old, his families wealthy, he’s lived like a king for 40 years; to hell with the state, Madigan won. Sad.
Have to agree he did win.

Lisa who? Haven’t heard much about her lately, seems as if she dropped off the face of the earth….
No different from when she was in office protecting her daddy.
What I’m gonna say some will think it’s evil and mean but I hope Pritzker is next.
