The men have known each other for a few months, and both were residents of the emergency shelter that Chicago city officials established at the old Standard Club. Elvis Diaz-Betancourt, 27, was at least the third Venezuelan migrant to appear before Judge Maryam Ahmad in felony bond court last week.
