“It would be great to find a source and stop it right there,” said Sandra Martell, the Winnebago County health administrator. “For now we are going to have to deal with immediate action people can take, in particular when it comes to protecting young children who are more vulnerable because their bodies are still developing. That means more people using water filters, and eventually getting them connected to municipal sources of water.”
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
