Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Black and Brown students have had more than enough time to get the vaccine. Their parents and grandparents were placed at the front of the vaccine line over a year ago. The african-american community is general in skeptical of the vaccine for the same reasons as the MAGA crowd – they don’t trust it. They know every institution in America is pushing for these shots and that makes them distrust it even more. Hopefully some of their political beliefs will realign as a result of the vaccine skepticism.

Hopefully there’s some campaign ads that point that out. Your typical CPS parent probably is not aware of the bill because the teachers go on strike so often. The parents don’t know this is something they could not previously go on strike over.

They aren’t interested in telling the public the truth that its because JB signed that bill that giving CTU 24/7 strike over anything rights that CPS is in this mess. They are only interested in perpetuating continual conflict between CPS & CTU. Kids, parents and taxpayers are just collateral damage stage props. How is this racist discourse acceptable? There’s really loud racist dogwhistle in Mt. Greenwood comment. It was white parents that they privileged to not wear mask. How can it be acceptable to point out the race like this?
Again, why isn’t every politician in the county denouncing such overt racism?
According to NPR, Mt. Greenwood’s population growth last decade was almost entirely attributable to Hispanics and Asians moving into the neighborhood.

Interesting, now that Mt Greenwood is more diverse, but her racist comment specially addresses privilege in Mt. Greenwood against the wishes of black and brown students…which means she knows the students and parents were white, and she’s calling them out for being white and affecting other students of color… so racist.
How is such overt racism allowed in society?
Gates loves to pin the counter arguments on the border wards on the SW and NW side. She knows this is where most of the police, fire, and city workers live. The reason she doesn’t call out the yuppie wards of Lincoln And Hyde Park and the others scattered on the North Side is because most of those moms bought into the woke BS and made it their identities.
