Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
If it weren’t for the race card, Jordan Abudayyeh wouldn’t have any cards at all.
Maybe a Joker!
And that she is Freddy
Boy, is the Chicago media dumb. They keep echoing Pritzker’s, Lori’s and sophomores like Quigley’s complaints about not getting information from Texas in advance for 500 migrants. They seem to have not considered that Texas did not receive advance information about the 4 million that have chosen to illegally cross our borders as a result of Biden’s disastrous open border policy. Yet all these Illinois socialists support the open border. I need to get some popcorn to watch this show.
I hear the Biden shirts give them magical powers, like the ability to walk from Venezuela carrying no food or water.
I know, right? So little of these migrations make sense. This goes beyond caravans and into the cartel operated human smuggling. This border issue, of all issues, makes my blood boil more than all the other Biden disasters combined. It’s like end of Roman Empire kind of stuff. Importing an underclass of uneducated economic migrants who care not to integrate but instead just take, take, take, causing the collapse of a once powerful government……nah, it’s different this time, right?
Spot on Debstor. They’re modern day Vandals.
For extra credit does anybody know the orgins of the word “vandalism?”
The Vandals sacked Rome in 410, because they were unhappy with their hosts, after crossing the Danbue by the hundreds of thousands in 406, just like the illegals crossing the Rio Grande by the millions in 2022. This stuff makes me so mad, Biden needs to be impeached and imprisoned over this. Everything Biden does is politics which is frustrated but still politics. But allowing millions of poor illegal immigrants to flood the country forever changing the demographics and economy structure of the country for short term electoral gain, and to ‘own’ the Republicans. This is easily one of the… Read more »
Well stated, Debtsor – for me among the open southern border, the draw down of the strategic oil reserves, and the administration’s magnanimity to Ukraine, it’s a toss up which fries my bananas the most.
Imagine what could have been accomplished domestically with the billions sent to Ukraine.
Or how much money and grief for everyone could have been saved had the border policies set by Trump not been reversed.
Or how vulnerable we’ve become because of Biden’s oil policies.
So much to choose from!
The southern border, I think, is more important than all of the other issues combined, and every other issue alone is an impeachable offense. But the southern border issue specifically goes to the nature of the country going forward, and the cohesion we will have. Like Obama said a decade ago, we don’t need to worry about our immigrants learning English, we need to teach our children Spanish instead. My children will grow up in a world completely unrecognizable to the world we have today. We’re going to be a third-world hell hole with massive amounts of poor people, and… Read more »
You are correct, Debtsor, the next generation will never know the City we grew up in and called home. And I further agree – the border is the biggest issue as hordes of people inundate our country. My families date back to the late 1800s when my maternal great grandparents bought a home and just post WWI when my paternal grandparents arrived. They arrived legally, learned English, found work and assimilated, as did other ethnic groups. Their fealty was to their new home, not the ‘old country.’ They and their offspring served their country and were proud Americans. But, no… Read more »
JB Pritzker continuously acts like an arrogant hypocrite. He is always doing to others exactly what he claims is being done to him. But is not hypocrisy. This is hierarchy. JB’s administration believes it resides on a higher level than everyone else. He believes HE is allowed to request information from Abbott, and complain about it when he doesn’t receive any, but when he does the same to others, they are mere peons, like the lowly mayor of Burr Ridge, who deserves to know nothing. My personal guess is that JB’s office is a complete mess and disaster. Imagine all… Read more »
