All a WP reader has to do is follow CWBChicago to learn what really happens to repeat felons that commit gun crimes (more precisely their new victims) to realize that registration is only for the law abiding. CWBChicago even keeps a running tally of these types of repeat criminals.
Laws and or mandates should NEVER supersede our Constitutional and God given rights. People have a right to defend themselves, their family and their property – no exceptions.

Meanwhile a “connected” Chicago Fire Department employee is released without any cash bond after shooting a man in the mouth over a road rage incident. The man is in critical condition with a bullet lodged in his spine and may be paralyzed from the neck down. The CFD employee has been charged with attempted murder and several other felonies but is out walking around courtesy of a Cook County judge and the CFD employer’s nefarious connections to high ranking CFD administrators. Own a firearm that looks scary and look out gray bar hotel.
