Nearly $18M invested in feeding Chicago migrants over 8 months – FOX32 (Chicago)

"I actually think it's quite fitting that we are in this wonderful small business because it has been Black and brown small businesses that have stepped up in this moment, in this crisis, to respond to these families who are arriving here," Mayor Brandon Johnson said. By the end of last year, the Greater Chicago Food Depository and its contracted restaurants served 18,000 daily meals across 21 city shelters.

What’s wrong with me? I actually pay for the food I consume.

Sorry Mayor J, You need to think again on WHO is feeding the Migrants. The Tax payers of the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago are paying to feed these people and pay for their housing and healthcare and all the rest. Regardless of how you want to race-bait this issue, take personal credit for it, or claim that one race over another is “stepping up”…the Tax payers are paying for this fiasco. We all bleed green in this program!

Mayor Raggedy can blow hot and cold all he wants, but whenever I see a food handout going on, it is a majority of white folks handing food to a majority crowd of black folks, with a Chicago Bear or Bull sprinkled in for a feel good photo op.

Well if Mayor Idiot Von Raggedy says it’s wonderful, it must be so. This blowhard keeps telling people how smart and different he is from past mayors. He looks pretty much the same as the last one to me. Tremendously unpopular, angry and arrogant with absolutely zero solutions to offer. Way to go Brando.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
