Nearly $1B in expected spending on health care for noncitizens adds to state budget pressures – Capitol News IL

“We haven't seen the full magnitude of what the liability could be for this program,” Rep. Ryan Spain said. “And you know, this is a large country where people are moving to different areas based on what benefits may be available to them. So we're just scratching the surface of what could be our future unfunded liability in this area.”

What would Jesus say about this?

We will not truly know the cost until many of these illegals get heart/liver/kidney/bowel/pancreas/lung/etc transplants. Plus all the cancer treatments/diabetes management/birthing costs and of course top shelf medications at full price. Then we will know the cost

Good point, since healthcare costs are concentrated so heavily towards the latest years.

I assume that the tax payer’s in Illinois realize that the state is broke, doa, done for all these promises without a significant tax payer base to fund the ludicrous programs. They all said the titanic couldn’t sink so I assume the politicians think the same.

Any ship that Pritzker is on is capable of sinking. Literally and figuratively.

Let’s not forget the inbound and northbound climate refugees heading for Chicago as long as the St. Lawrence Seaway doesn’t back up.

Only progressives would estimate the cost of a program at $2 mil per year; actual cost $188 mil per year. Solution? Expand eligibility for the program even more.

PPF better get after this right away. Don’t they know that money belongs to Tier I pensioners?

Any cent NOT spent on the criminial pensioners is theft in their feeble minds. Although in this instance I’d rather see the taxpayers stolen money spent on the pensioner criminals than on the illegal immigrant criminals.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
