New bill would replace and relocate the MLK statue outside the Capitol – WICS (Springfield)

The statue is weathered, and the original material now turning green. The bill would require a new statue to be built and installed by 2025.

Why? Politicians in Illinois no longer believe in what Dr. King believed. As a matter of fact they believe the exact opposite .So why put up a new statue?
